Professor Xiaoyuan (Shawn) Chen received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Idaho (1999), and two postdocs at Syracuse University and Washington University in St. Louis. Research interests: in-vitro diagnosis, in-vivo imaging, gene/drug nanocarriers, and radioligand theranostics.

Welch Award (2019), ACS Bioconjugate Chemistry Lecturer Award (2016), NIH Director’s Award (2014), NIBIB Mentor Award (2012). He also became a member of the Advanced Materials Hall of Fame (2023).
