Congratulations to Prof. Chen Xiaoyuan for winning the Best Scientist Award for 2023 released by Research.com

Recently, in the latest global top scientist ranking released by the Research.com, Prof. Chen Xiaoyuan (the Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of LNC, and Nasrat Muzayyin Chair Professor in Medicine and Technology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and College of Design and Engineering, National University of Singapore) ranked 495th in the world and 2nd in Singapore, and won the Best Scientist Award in 2023.

The Best Scientist Award brings together top scientists from all major fields of science to determine the top 1000 scientists based on the proportion of contributions within a specific discipline, as well as the awards and achievements of scientists. This hopes to inspire scholars and researchers around the world to explore the development direction of leading technology and providing more research guidance for the entire scientific community in specific research fields in different countries.

Prof. Chen Xiaoyuan (Shawn) received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Idaho (1999). After two postdocs at Syracuse University and Washington University in St. Louis, he started his Assistant Professorship in 2002 and then moved to Stanford in 2004. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2008. He then moved to NIH in 2009 and became a Senior Investigator and Chief of the Laboratory of Molecular Imaging and Nanomedicine (LOMIN) at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), NIH. He is currently Nasrat Muzayyin Chair Professor in Medicine and Technology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Department of Surgery) and College of Design and Engineering (Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering), National University of Singapore. He is also the Director of the Nanomedicine Translational Research Program, and Research Director of the Clinical Imaging Research Centre of the NUS School of Medicine. Dr. Chen has published over 1000 peer-reviewed papers (H-index: 186, total citations > 125,000 based on google scholar as of Jul. 6, 2023) and numerous books and book chapters. He is the founding editor of journal “Theranostics” (current IF = 12.4). He was elected as AIMBE Fellow (2017) and SNMMI Fellow (2020), became a member of Advanced Materials Hall of Fame (2023), received Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology (JBN) Trailblazer Award (2023), SNMMI Michael J. Welch Award (2019), ACS Bioconjugate Chemistry Lecturer Award (2016), NIH Director’s Award (2014), NIBIB Mentor Award (2012). He is also the Past President of Chinese American Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (CASNMMI), Past President of the Radiopharmaceutical Science Council (RPSC), Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), and Past President of the Chinese American Society of Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology (CASNN).
